The Allen Brad-ley 1734-OB8S POINT Safety Output Module has solid-state outputs and comes in 2 series (A and B.) It has a dual-channel mode that will control any redundancy using 2 output signals. The Allen-Bradley 1734-OB8S Series has Eight (8) Current sourcing outputs per module. The 1734-OB8S output has an output current of 1A per channel. Its pulse width is 475 micro/s with a pulse period of 575 milliseconds. It has a maximum field capacitance limit per output of 950 nF. Its voltage drop reaches 0.165 Volts and it has a current leakage of 0.1 mA at most. The 1734-OB8S has short-circuited detection with a category of short, high, low, and cross-circuit fault detection. The short-circuit is electronically protected and its output can aggregate a current of 8A.
The 1734-OB8S's reaction time is up to 6.2 milliseconds and its point-bus current reaches up to 190 mA. Its power dissipation is 4.5 Watts maximum and 3.02 Watts typical. It has a thermal dissipation of 15.38 BTU/hour. Its isolation voltage is 50 Volts continuous with basic insulation between the field side and the system. There is no isolation between individual channels. The 1734-OB8S has been tested at 707 Volts DC for 60 seconds. It has a power bus operating supply voltage of 24 Volts DC nominal and a voltage range of 19.2 to 28.8 Volts DC. When there is no load, it has a power-bus current of 75 mA. It comes with a variety of indicator lights, 1 yellow for lock status, 1 green/yellow for power status, and 8 I/O for the channel. The 1734-OB8S has a wiring category of 2-on signal ports. The wiring size and terminal block torque can only be determined by an installed terminal block. The 1734-OB8S has dimensions of 77 x 25 x 55 millimeters.
The 1734-OB8S safety outputs is capable of being pulse-tested for detection of field wiring short circuits.
When the module has detected fault, the outputs are switched OFF and will remain off until the module has recovered from the detected fault. To enable the safety output active, the cause of the error must be removed, Command the safety output to switch to the safe state or allow the output-error time to expire. The module's fault recovery is conformed once the indicator's RED light turns off.
