The 1756-IB32 is a 32-input module from Allen Brad-ley and from the ControlLogix family. The module is a digital I/O module with 32 inputs in 2 groups of 16 points. The 1756-IB32 is mounted to the chassis with the terminal blocks or RTB which are either the 1756-TBCH or 1756-TBS6H. It is recommended to operate the 1756-IB32 within a temperature range of 0 to 60 degrees Celsius. The humidity of the environment in which the module is operated should be non-condensing within the range of 5 to 95%. It is necessary to maintain the temperature and the humidity to obtain optimal performance of the system. Additionally, the users can install cooling fans to lower the temperature inside the enclosure in case the temperature in the enclosure exceeds the prescribed limits.
The 1756-IB32 has software installed which is the RSLogix 5000 software with version 8.02.00 or later. The module comes in an open enclosure type and it is equipped with reverse polarity protection and a configurable software which can detect a change of state. The input operating voltage for the 1756-IB32 is 12 to 24 Volts DC and the nominal input voltage is 24 Volts DC. The operating voltage range is 10 to 31.2 Volts DC. The minimum operating current is 2 mA and the maximum operating current is 5.5 mA. The power dissipation of the module is 6.2 Watts. The 1756-IB32 has a backplane current of 120 mA at 5 Volts DC and a backplane current of 2 mA at 24 Volts DC. The thermal dissipation for the 1756-IB32 is 21.1 BTU/hour.
